For many years now I have used the Nars pressed translucent powder and loved it so much! I have repurchased it again and again even when it was not so easy to get in the UK. But recently I have tried their loose translucent powder and I think I love it even more. I will be comparing the two powders and the quality’s I like and dislike about them both.

Starting with the pressed powder. I have loved this powder for so long now. I find it good for most skin types, it can be applied lightly with a fluffy brush for dryer skin or can be applied with a more dense brush to oily skin types by pressing it in to keep their makeup set all day. After using a product for so long you begin to find little things that you start to dislike! With this powder there really aren't many but...
Sometimes under the eyes, with certain concealers it can crease into the wrinkles of the skin. I have found that using a slightly damp sponge can help tap out these wrinkles. I have also found that once using the powder for a while and when it begins to reach the end, it is very hard to get the product that is left in the outer edges of the pan. It begins to crack which is then wasting the last bit of powder.

So I decided to try the loose translucent powder. You would probably think it would be the same, but I have found a new love for the Nars powder. I have been using it for around 3-4 months now and feel I have been completely converted already. I think that the powder applies much nicer to the skin and can be used with a brush or a damp beauty sponge. I have also used it to 'bake' slightly under the eyes and cheek bones which I have found is a great way to set the skin and also add definition. I also really like how fine it is which feels light weight on the face. So far I would say the only negative I have about this product is it is a little messier to use, but a benefit of it being a loose powder is that there is no wastage left.
I will continue to repurchase the loose translucent powder as I am really enjoying using it. But I will also continue to look for other face powders that could be similar.
