This foundation is one I have wanted to try for ages and just never got around to buying it. I finally took a trip to superdrug and got what I thought was my shade! But I was slightly wrong. There were no testers due to COVID so I just guessed. I have never used any L’Oréal foundations before so didn't really have an idea what shade I would be. I decided to go for 4.5N True beige. While in superdrug I noticed that they have changed the ingredients, which they now claim will help clear your skin and also hydrate it with Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin and Aloe Vera extract. I thought this would be great as my skin has been slightly dryer than normal in patches around my mouth and eyes.
I picked mine up for £9.99 which is what it usually retails at in store and online. It is also available at many other online sites. You get 30ml which is a pretty standard size for most foundations. It also comes in 40 different shades which for a lower budget foundation is really good. I feel this is excellent value for money and if works well could be a great drugstore everyday foundation option for me.
Once I got home and gave it a try I realised it was actually a little to dark for my natural skin tone. It will be perfect for when I have a little more of a tan, but since I haven’t seen any sun in months I am looking a little pale. I decided to try it out still and thought I could work with the colour by using a lighter concealer.

My first impression was that I love a foundation with a pump, its so much easier to use and you know that you aren't going to use or waste too much product. I started off by using just one pump on the back of my hand and blended that in. Whilst applying the foundation it was felt really light weight. I decided to use a beauty blender as I usually do with my other foundation. It blended into the skin beautifully feeling really creamy. I found that you didn’t need to use loads of product to create an even medium coverage, which is what I prefer in a foundation. I used around 2-3 pumps for my whole face. Once completely blended out I added some concealer under my eyes, on any blemishes and also on the high points of my face, to slightly lighten the shade. It all blended in really well and definitely lightened the overall shade. So far I was impressed and continued to do the rest of my makeup how I normally would for an everyday look, avoiding using too much powder on my dryer areas.

Once the rest of my makeup was I set it with a light sprits of setting spray. I really liked how smooth my skin looked and didn't feel like I had a lot of makeup on after applying other cream and powder products. I kept the makeup on for around 5-6 hours which wouldn't be as long as I normally would but it lasted well throughout the day. My skin has always been oily in the T-zone and has recently become a lot dryer in certain areas too, but this foundation didn't cling to my dry patches as much as previous foundations I have tired, which I was really pleased with. I will continue to use this foundation and also see how it lasts when I am wearing makeup for a 12hour+ day. I feel this foundation is really good at hydrating the skin. Overall I am impressed with this foundation and I am glad I finally gave it a try.
I will continue to see how much I like this foundation and see if it really does change the appearance of my skin as well. I also like that it has SPF17 as I like to wear an SPF everyday to protect my skin. I will also be trying this foundation when we get the chance to go on holiday abroad. I think its the perfect weight for a nice evening holiday makeup as it almost feels like a serum when applied so would be great for just out of the sun skin.
