My first impressions of the Eyelure Line & Lash

When I first saw this product was being released I couldn't wait to give it a try. I have always secretly hated lash glue and thought this would be a great alternative. The majority of the time when I am applying lashes either for clients or for myself, I will apply eyeliner to hide the lash band and I feel it always completes the look with a little bit of liner. So this product seemed perfect for me. I decided to get the black as I thought I would use it more and also wanted to see what it would be like as a liner as well as a glue. It also comes in a clear which is just a liner applicator which seems like a easier way to apply lash glue.

I ordered mine from ASOS for £9.95 as that was just my personal choice. I have 'next day free delivery' so thought it would be quick and easy to get my hands on it, but it can also be found on most beauty websites and in store too.

Although I use multiple different brands of lashes, I do love Eylure lashes. Its great that it can be used with any type of lash. I used the Eyelure No 117 lashes as I just had them to hand and I do absolutely love these lashes, so thought it would be a good way to judge the application and strength. I have a previous blog post about my favourite lashes too.

The first thing is the packaging. Very neat and simple which I liked very much. The main thing was how much smaller it was than I expecting. I envisioned a normal eyeliner pen the same size as most other brands of eyeliners, where as this was much smaller! The eyeliner itself is very easy to use and has a great nib making it easy to move seamlessly across the lid. I think it would even be good for beginners who aren't used to using a eyeliner pen.

I decided to give it a try on myself first. When I thought about the fact that the liner will be sticky once applied and then dry after lash application, I didn't think about how long it usually takes me to do a symmetrical wing on myself! It wasn't too bad. I decided to go straight in with the lash glue liner instead of using my usual black liner as I thought it would help with the sticking of the lashes. Once I had done my wing and liner along the lid it was still slightly tacky, but I went over the lash area once again just to make sure the lashes really stuck on well. It was super easy to apply the lashes onto the lash line, definitely felt slightly weird not having to apply any glue to them but was super easy.

I did have slight trouble with the inner corners on both lashes as I found the amount of liner was less/ thinner and the lashes didn't want to stick as well. I went back in with another coat of eyeliner and it managed to stick back down.

I feel that the lashes didn't feel as secure as maybe they usually do using a traditional lash glue but I felt it worked well.

When coming to remove my lashes I found they came off a lot easier than usual. I used exactly the same products to remove my makeup as usual to make sure it was a fair comparison. I found that even after my oil cleanser and normal cleanse the eyeliner still didn't want to budge. I usually don't like to rub too much on my eye area when removing makeup and like a oil cleanser as it usually just melts away the makeup without having to apply too much pressure. However, I did have to go in with a little bit more of my oil cleanser and rub a little more on the lash line to really get the rest of the liner off. Once I had used some warm water and a flannel it had lifted a lot more, leaving my eyes feeling a little more sore than usual. I wouldn't mind if it was a super strong glue that wouldn't come off but it just didn't feel that strong for how much it wanted to stay on my lash line.

I wanted to write my first impressions and get a true feel of what I thought, but I will definitely be using it again and having a play around. I want to have another go at using the lash glue liner as it was a super easy way of applying lashes that seemed really cool. I wouldn't like to make my opinion of the product on just one use.

I am sure a few more brands will now come out with a similar product as it does seem like a really good concept. Whether I will repurchase this product again when mine runs out depends on how much I use it compared to a normal lash glue or normal eyeliner.
